First, this is completely overwhelming, so bear with me.  Struggling to find alternative platforms, exploring their functionality, pitfalls and learning curve, coupled with the flurry of messages on Tumblr asking where we’re going…has surpassed my ability to manage it…there are only so many hours in a day and real life responsibilities limit how much time I have.  I’m sure we’re not the only ones.

On a good note…the amount of messages we’ve gotten is heartwarming.  Especially from so many fans who have followed us for years, but never messaged before, or liked any of our posts (that I can remember at least).  What it means: There are way more people who actually read and enjoy our content than the likes and reblogs would suggest. 

As trial runs, I’ve set us up on Twitter, MeWe, OnlyFans and Sharesome.  Might look at a few more if time permits, so consider this an interim update. Doing our best to keep the same profile pic and account name for ease of finding them (j-and-t-midwest-hotwife)…although some are variants of that.  I will post links to each one later…and inevitably, I’m not sure which one or ones I’ll settle on, but it will be the one most like Tumblr.  As we set these up, I won’t post much, if anything on the other sites as we explore functionality and also, it’s just a time suck. So far, here’s some notes on each one:

Twitter:  Pros:  Easy to use and manage.  And you can select the option to protect your tweets where only those followers you approve will receive your Tweets. Twitter feed is similar to a blog, and you can see original posts and it will pass on credit to the original posters.  Cons: The fucking app is already recommending real life vanilla friends to follow, even though I explicitly DID NOT allow it to import contacts from my phone or email.  And because it’s a major social network, not sure yet how NSFW friendly it is, or how much crossover into RL there is.  You also have to go into the settings and click the option that says you’ll be sharing NSFW content, and also that you’re ok with seeing NSFW content.  Verdict: Keeping it for now, but on a trial basis.

MeWe:  Pros: Much more like Facebook, with lots of functionality.  Their terms of service allow nudity “but no porno”.  Not sure what that means, but so far everything is passing their filters.  Cons:  More difficult to manage all the settings between groups, group messages and your account. Also, unlike Tumblr or Twitter, if you allow others to share your posts your credit doesn’t follow…so for now, I’ve turned off sharing.  Managing the notifications also seems like an all or nothing thing, and it’s overwhelming.  Also, some other users say there’s a limit on how many contacts you can accept in a day.  Additionally, unlike Twitter, you accept contacts or you don’t… in that regard, it’s kind of like Facebook friends.  You can elect to hide their posts, but having followers is better than contacts, I think. Verdict: Keeping it for now, on a trial basis.

OnlyFans:  Pros:  Really, really like this site! Easy to use and manage, very much like Tumblr, and this one is really promising. Cons:  This is the site a lot Tumblr’s use to set up their pay sites for more intimate content, and that’s a huge deterrent for a lot of people.  However, you can set up your page to be a free subscription (and that’s what some of us have done).  Verdict: Definitely keeping this one, and we’ll play with it and figure out what we want to do with it in the future.  For our Tumblr friends who set up a fee OnlyFans site…sorry, we love you but aren’t going to pay to follow you, just like we won’t charge anyone to follow us either.  Not judging if that’s your thing, it’s just not ours.

Sharesome:  Pros:  This site is the most promising of all to be as close to Tumblr as possible.  Their CEO sent an open letter to Tumblr’s CEO, and said that Sharesome is happily accepting Tumblr refugees with open arms.  No question that they’ll support NSFW content.  It’s easy to use and feels like Tumblr.  Additionally, Sharesome is working on an app or program that will allow users to import their Tumblr blogs (which would be awesome).  Cons:  It’s still in Beta, and the site is getting heavy traffic as Tumblr refugees try to sign up.  For a more detailed explanation, check out this link: https://j-and-t-midwest-hotwife.tumblr.com/post/180828151713/tessasmaster-gigglefuck-ticklemistress

Kik:  I avoided this forever, since Tumblr already had messaging…but set it up recently.  Pros:  Good messaging program, like Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp.  Cons: It’s ONLY a messaging platform, not a blog site or webpage. Also only works on mobile devices, not desktop.  If you’re like us, most all of our content is on PC (I just use the mobile Tumblr App to manage things on the go).  And when you set it up, you have to specifically uncheck the “import contacts” function so it doesn’t pull from all your phone numbers and email contacts and suggest your Grandma as a kik contact.  Verdict: Keeping it for now, but will NOT accept message requests from those we don’t already know well enough to chat.  If you’re one of those few people who know us well, PM me. 

There might be a few others I check out, like Pillowfort…but it will take a few days to process all of this.  Later today I’ll post links to the sites I listed above…so if you send requests, it might take me a while since it will be an electronic deluge, I expect.  At our peak, we had over 83,000 followers…hard to believe…and disheartening to know we literally have to start over elsewhere.

There are many moments in life were love will clutch your heart regardless of the situation you don’t choose love it chooses you. You may fall or you may rise because of it but take hold of it for how ever long it lasts in the end love only makes you stronger and better,love is the spice that peppers life, sweet or bitter there are many kinds of love as there are many sides to the people in life. nothing is perfect no matter how far or close they are. connections will be made. Don’t close your heart from these experiences, grow from them love hard and deep life will see you through. Love and pain are bedfellows an integral part of the human experience. It is what makes us human however fleeting or permanent. Like Plants need water and sun to truly live. we need love in much the same way it helps us grow, it helps us live, it helps us become who we are. Love is not to be denied but to be embraced. We need to love.
